(07/13/09) July 12-18

Summer swings into high gear this week as we present Dave Berry's Market Boat tomorrow at 9:00 A.M. We'll have coffee ready at the Library to go with the cakes and pies you buy.

Dave Lake brings some old outboards from his collection for "show and tell" on Wednesday's opening discussion in the "Lectures in the Library" series at 7:00. Come early. Seating is limited. And make reservations at the Osprey for dinner or drinks afterwards.

And Friday's band will be (all the way from Bath, Maine) The Big Chips Trio with Michael Chapman and Earl and Nancy Bigelow. A little bit country and a little bit rock 'n roll, they rocked this place last summer. What a way to start the weekend.

(07/07/09) IT'S SUMMER!

This past Friday, Mel Tukey and the Clam Flat Five brought their music and the sun to start the summer season of jazz at the gazebo. This coming Friday we will welcome the Salt Bay Jazz Quartet with Liz Matta who will perform from 4:00 to 7:00. We've also booked the Sun to perform at the same time so bring your picnic lunches or make reservations at the Osprey Restaurant and enjoy a great evening of jazz and food.

Dave Berry's Market Boat will visit Tuesdays at 9:00 A.M. beginning this Tuesday, July 14. You can set your clock by his ringing bell on arrival. Even though the wet spring has effected early harvests, he brings pies, breads, and baked goods, flowers, and farm market quality vegetables. And you've gotta admire the boat!

And on Wednesday, July 15th, we begin our Wednesday Lectures in the Library series as Dave Lake, a RMC boatbuilder and rigger, discusses his extensive collection of antique outboards. The presentation begins at 7:00 P.M. in the Library. Come early, seating is limited.

And the dock staff is making coffee daily. The coffee bar is in the library, the first pot will show up around 8:30 A.M.

(07/02/09) Georgetown Book Club

After a yummy lunch at the Osprey, the Georgetown Book Club spends some time sharing favorite poems in the Robinhood library.

(06/19/09) LOBSTER ROLLS & BLT

When we decided to upgrade the food service end of the RMC experience, we knew we had to choose our new tenant wisely. How could we best fill this void in our successful operation? Well the word is out, and the comments are flooding in. The new Osprey is a home run. We have a list of great comments coming by land and sea, by word of mouth and even in writing! People have driven from as far away as Port Clyde and Augusta just to have lunch. Come and see us soon, but if it’s on a weekend you had better make a reservation!

P.S. The Osprey is now the home of the best BLT's and lobster rolls in Mid-coast Maine!

(05/21/09) Shark Bite

Don and Pat Wass's new boat 'Libby' (our beloved 'Shark Bite') heads for the water as Mark Morgan, her savior, gives her a gentle pat.
